I’ve had 2 macs, 4 pcs, and 1 Linux. The Linux still kicks ass, the others crapped out a long time ago. Permanent Linux fan.

My high school uses Macs so I learned them in school, friendly good looking interface, lots of apps too.They aren’t cheap though. I grew up using windows, know it inside and out, even some programming. Now Linux Has some amazing and far more innovative features, however in Ubuntu and Debian, and most other distros for that matter have no UPnp system and companies are reluctant to release the source code to make drivers you gotta have a brain to use linux too. hardware need work to work in it.

Linux is used for NASA’s ISIS software toolkit that they use to view and analyse all RAW data from space craft and satellite images. They have used Linux for years because it is way more secure and flexable than PC or Mac. Linux useds can download ISIS and view these RAW data images themselves!

I am speaking of the usefulness of an AMIGA compared to a multimedia linux system, not that a linux system is in fact an AMIGA! AMIGAs were there in 1985 and it’s taken this long for everyone to catch up with a system that could do it all in 1985!
I wonder how far along personal computing would be if the AMIGA caught on more back in it’s heyday.Killed by the knuckleheads at Commodore. Such a shame. I still have my 2000. I wish I also had my old 1000. My Son learned computing on it in the 80s.
It wasn’t all that long ago when users of “Home PCs” were all called geeks. Hardly any owner could build their own system or load their operating system. They had to have their “friend” fix it or their kids do it. linux will be the same way. Some people can load the OS with little or no difficulties at all and others have to have their kids do it for them. In every case though it’s worth it and will eventually lead to better things. We gave up the AMIGA years ago only to finally get it back now.
It doesn’t run well on the macs. Holy fuck STFU.

My grandma dunno, but my mother uses Linux better then Windows and it sounds like a pretty good thing

linux is for geeks who have plenty of time to play around with their great system(it is indeed great), but hey… you don’t expect your grandma to be fooling around with linux… Mac’s still better… we can install whichever SO we want with no problems…. so guess who’s the winner
